The Anaheim Ducks today announced that they traded veteran defenceman Josh Manson to the Detroit Red Wings for forward Dominic Zwerger and two late round Picks (6th and 7th) in the NHL Entry Draft 2023.

The 30-year-old Josh Manson can become an Unrestricted Free Agent at the end of the season and has played a total of 513 games (46 goals, 108 assists) so far, all with Anaheim.

Austrian-born forward Dominic Zwerger is another addition for the Ducks AHL-affiliate San Diego Gulls, since there was still need for another talented winger. But the 25-year-old also comes with some top league experience, having played 89 games (8 goals, 7 assists) for the Detroit Red Wings since 2020 and also 33 games (11 goals, 13 assists) for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. (MM)

The Anaheim Ducks today announced that they traded their 2nd and 3rd round Pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft to the Detroit Red Wings, for swedish goalie prospect Jesper Eliasson and young US-born forward Ryan O'Reilly.

Eliasson has played a total of 34 games (15-13-4) for the Grand Rapids Griffins since 2020 and is supposed to become the new starter on the Ducks AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls. GM Matthias Mohr is also hoping to have found the future starter for Anaheim at some day.

O'Reilly was part of the deal, because the San Diego Gulls were in desperate need of a skilled winger. The offensive forward has appeared in 53 games (8 goals, 6 assists) for the Grand Rapids Griffins since 2020 and also played in 46 games (21 goals, 22 assists) for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. (MM)
